Our story
We take the cocktail very seriously. Ourselves, considerably less so.
OHB started with three people who love a great cocktail and noticed how rarely you get one at home. Great cocktails were for nights out, special occasions, or someone else's bar. We thought they should be for any given Tuesday.
So we went looking for the spirits bartenders get excited about: small distilleries with limited distribution, from DC's waterfront to the Texas Hill Country. We built classics around them, made our own vermouth liqueur and cordials, and bottled them in Texas at proper strength: two proper pours per bottle, three in the Manhattan.
Our goal is to create a great cocktail experience, as close as possible to shoving a master mixologist into a tiny bottle and slapping our logo on it. Unfortunately, our lawyers tell us we can no longer do that to bartenders, so we have landed on the next best thing: ready-to-drink, spirit-driven cocktails, inspired by classics, made from high-quality ingredients sourced exclusively in the US from like-minded craftspeople and small-batch distillers. A truly premium craft experience, and all you have to do is twist the cap.
The name? The One-Handed Bartender is the host who pours a perfect drink with one hand and greets a guest with the other. That's the job of every bottle we make. And the pineapple on every cap has meant “welcome” for centuries.
The founders
Three people, one hand free.
We're family, and it helps. When you're bottling cocktails by hand at midnight, you want people who'll tell you the truth about the garnish and still show up for dinner on Sunday.
